"Komt een Vrouw bij de Dokter" is one of VFE’s first titles delivered online via Sony DADC’s
Digital Media Manager (DMM)
Salzburg, March 25, 2010 – Video Film Express (VFE), a leading video publisher in Benelux and
Sony DADC Austria AG are pleased to announce that Sony DADC will handle all digital content
services on behalf of VFE from 2010 moving forward. Sony DADC will provide its supply chain
solution including content digitisation, content preparation (features, trailers, artwork, metadata
and previews), secure storage, encoding and delivery to B2B partners such as broadcasters and VOD
platforms via its market-proven Digital Media Manager (DMM). One the first titles delivered via DMM
will be "Komt een Vrouw bij de Dokter".
"In that way", says Rob Stienen from VFE, "we have full control where our digital movie files
are located and will be sent to." Authoring house The Site, service partner of Sony DADC in the
Benelux, will both assist in ingesting all the digital VFE products and conduct the regular DVD and
BD authoring. "Using all these synergies and thus reducing costs and time-to-market allows us to
fully concentrate on our core business” explains Rob.
“We are proud to have been selected by Video Film Express to provide this service, which
helps them to handle their future business in the most efficient way. The digital market is growing
rapidly and will result in a significant revenue stream for video publishers in the next years”
says Arkin Kol, Sales Director at Sony DADC, “together with our local service partner The Site we
can offer Video Film Express a real one-stop-shop from authoring to digital delivery."
For the upcoming DVD release of their success title "Komt een Vrouw bij de Dokter", VFE will
bundle Sony DADC’s most effective Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions in order to generate
the best possible sales through retail. These solutions include piracy counter measures and an
online market intelligence platform, allowing VFE to track the success of their release.
Potential buyers already could subscribe for the special edition of the movie, which will be
directly sent to them on the actual release date. This is proven to be a nice and successful
alternative to downloading: the buyer has to wait a while, but gets the one and only special
edition. Furthermore, both rental and sell-through DVD will be released on the same day, to prevent
a download-vulnerable rental window.
