Production with Oerlikon Balzers Coatings and Singulus Technologies
Salzburg, Austria; March 6, 2007 - Sony DADC announced today that it has started an initiative
to develop manufacturing technology and production equipment for Dual Layer Blu-ray Disc. Sony DADC
has agreed to co-develop mass production technology for the 50 Gbyte Dual Layer Blu-ray Disc with
Oerlikon Balzers Coatings, Switzerland, and Singulus Technologies, Germany.
Sony DADC CEO Dieter Daum: 'We are pleased that Singulus Technologies and Oerlikon Balzers
Coatings - both system integrators of disc replication equipment - will make available replication
machines that will enable replicators world-wide with the ability to manufacture pre-recorded Dual
Layer Blu-ray Discs in a short period of time. Oerlikon Balzers Coatings and Singulus Technologies
will design and manufacture Dual Layer BD-ROM replication lines for mass production using
experience and know how from Sony DADC. Production machines from both companies will be available
in summer of this year.'

European MEDIA-TECH Showcase & Conference 2007 in Barcelona, Spain, at the Congress Center of

revealing its latest Blu-ray road show that features their also their new PS3 Playstation and
up-to-the-minute high definition technology.
