| Sony DADC Global - Europe's Number One in DVD solutions |
| |
Founded in 1986, Sony DADC Global has since then evolved to a strong and prosperous company.
Headquartered in Salzburg/ Austria Sony DADC Global is Europe's largest DVD replicator with a daily
capacity of over 1 million DVDs a day. The services and technology for the optical media business
range from traditional replication to advanced solutions. Customers from the movie, entertainment,
education and software industries rely on audio and video postproduction, DVD authoring, graphic
design, mastering, replication, label printing, packaging, distribution and fulfilment.
The month of April was a month of celebration for Sony DADC Global: Since its opening in the
mid eighties the 4 billionth disc has been produced at the Anif location. What makes Sony DADC
Global so successful is the company's commitment for providing reliable and innovative solutions.
Sony DADC Global's strong focus on quality of production and service has led to increasing
production capacities. In the past years the group experienced an enormous rise in quantity of
produced discs. Meanwhile Sony DADC Global replicates over 1.5 billion discs per year. "Quantity
and quality are intertwined at Sony DADC Global," says Global CEO Dieter Daum. "Customers keep
returning because we know their needs and how to fulfil them. Their trust in our high quality
products has turned Sony DADC Global into the market leader for CDs and DVDs in Europe."
Sony DADC Global satisfies the rising demand for DVD in Europe by replicating this format at
both its Salzburg locations. The volume is divided up between both facilities so that Sony DADC
Global can easily cope with the high demand during peak season, providing customers continuous fast
and reliable service. Additionally, both locations offer customers an extra security level for
their orders. Having a daily capacity of over 2.4 million CDs and DVDs per day, more than 1000
orders and 100 different titles can run parallel in Austria.
Meanwhile Sony DADC Global holds a market share of over 25% in Europe's DVD business.
Customers seeking releases across country borders have found the right partner in Sony DADC Global.
Standard pricing and homogeneous high quality turn pan-European and worldwide releases into an easy
project for customers. Aside from the two facilities in Austria, the network consists of
manufacturing facilities in USA (Terra Haute IN, Pitman NJ), Canada (Toronto), Mexico (Mexico
City), Brazil (Manaus), China (Hong Kong, Shanghai), India (Mumbai) and Australia (Sydney). These
large capacities allow Sony DADC Global to handle up to 6500 orders in total worldwide per day
during peak season.
In order to offer a wide range of solutions and services to customers, Sony DADC Global
founded two affiliate companies in 2000: Sony NetServices (SNS) and Sony DVD Center Europe (SDCE).
SNS offers a full range of network business solutions, such as interactive digital TV, and SDCE
provides the highest quality DVD authoring services. "Together with Sony DVD Center Europe, Sony
DADC Global provides complete offerings. Here in Anif we combine the strength of two companies to
satisfy customers with highest quality DVDs", says Dieter Daum. "Being a member of the Sony
Corporation, SDCE also combines state of the art authoring tools with proprietary Sony Pictures
technology, using extended quality control." Currently Sony DADC Global is working on an advanced
copy control solution for DVD. The availability of an alpha version is expected shortly. New and
creative ideas are continuously incorporated in products and services. For example, at Sony DADC
Global DVDs do not only come in silver. Customers who wish to colour up their DVDs may choose
ColourDVD. Available in six different colours this promotional idea gives DVDs the extra visual
edge. Scents may also be included, adding a unique and memorable smell to the DVD.
Knowledgeable employees service customers tailored to their needs and are dedicated to making
the most of the solutions for every single customer. Customer care means service according to
individual demands: Either personally through the Customer Care Team or directly by the customers
themselves via the Internet, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. At Sony DADC Global care agents
speak the language of their customers. All together the centre supports over 20 different
languages. At any point during order process and execution, customers can request the progress and
state of their order. The entire work evolves around the customer, employing a competent team of
in-house and sales agents in all major markets. Therefore, agents visit customers on-site to ensure
that Sony DADC Global understands the individual demands. Meanwhile over 3,000 customers in Europe
rely on Sony DADC Global's innovative solutions, care and convenience in ordering.
